Thank you all so much for the wonderful response to the announcement of the new Pixels to Pages Classroom. I’m really excited to build a community where memory keepers like you can come and learn how to use a variety of mobile apps on their mobile devices to document their photos and stories.
As mentioned on Friday, the first class being offered is S.W.A.P. – Scrapbooking with Affinity Photo. Early Registration is now open, with class beginning on Monday, May 10. Grab a seat in the class for $39 and save $6. The price of the class will go up to $45 once the content goes live. Remember, all class participants will receive an exclusive class kit designed by Meagan Johnson (aka The Practical Scrapper). Check out the kit preview below! I wanted to answer some questions about classes that have popped up online and through direct messages:
Do I have to log in at a certain time for class?
All class videos will be pre-recorded. Once the content is released in the classroom you can view it at your convenience. There will be students participating from all corners of the globe. Please understand that I am in Florida and on Eastern Standard Time. So, for example, if I mention new class content will be released at 8 am, I am talking 8 am on the east coast of the United States. You would have to figure out what time that would be in your neck of the woods.
Once the class is over, will I still have access to the content?
YES! You will have access to the content for the lifetime of the site, allowing you to always come back to the lessons should you ever need a refresher. If the classroom should ever close down, arrangements will be made for you to download the videos.
Is this a beginners course?
I approach all of the classes I teach as though everyone is a beginner. No matter what the app, you will find that I start off with the very basics of the app–its settings and user-interface. Nothing is more frustrating than opening up an app and not knowing where anything is, right? I think you will find my teaching style easy to follow, giving you the confidence you need to build your mobile memory keeping skills!
I’ve taken several of your classes in the past, will it benefit me to take similar ones from you again?
Honestly, I believe they will. And I’m not just saying this to take your money! Apps are constantly being updated. Some of these apps, such as Affinity, are packed with so many features, that I didn’t know about until I needed them. I am always finding new ways to use apps that I’ve been using for years and I’m excited to pass that knowledge on.
Having a place on the internet to build and host classes dedicated specifically to mobile memory keeping has been something I’ve wanted to do for the past few years. I really want Pixels to Pages to become the place where scrapbookers come to learn how to take their memory keeping mobile! Whether you are brand new to documenting on your mobile device or have been doing it for years, I am committed to building the classroom into a fun, supportive, community where anyone can come and learn new skills and build on ones that they already know. This is brand new for me. I know there will be bumps in the road. I’m learning as I go, and I am grateful for you being on this journey with me.
