October Captured: Days 13 + 14

Throughout the month of October I will be creating a 6x8 album celebrating the fall season in Affinity Publisher for iPad. The photos + stories in this "October Captured" album will follow the prompts from my Photo-A-Day Idea sheet. You can download the idea sheet in this blog post. These pages will be simple, using the October Captured book template and October Captured Digital Kit I created for students enrolled in the S.L.A.P. Masterclass.

Can you believe we are in the middle of October already? Even though time seems to be moving so fast, the photo prompts have really helped to slow the pace of life a bit. I’m taking more time to find joy in both the little indulgences and the quiet beauty of the season.

October 13 | Photo Prompt: A Favorite Snack

Sometimes the best comfort comes in the form of something crunchy, salty, and just a touch spice. Chips + salsa are my go-to, but this time of year, I can’t resist mixing up a bowl of PayDay Mix — a sweet-and-salty combo of candy corn and peanuts that hits all the right notes. Chris leans toward sweets (he definitely has the bigger sweet tooth!), but I’ll always reach for something crunchy first!

The pocket-style layout is a Master Page from my October Captured book template I created in Affinity Publisher for iPad. The journal card, labels and number sticker are from the main kit created for the S.L.A.P. Masterclass. I love those pumpkins on the journal card!

October 14 | Photo Prompt: Shadows

I love that the back of our house faces east. I'm a morning person and I enjoy waking up when it is still dark outside and watch the light slowly fill the living area. Morning light can be magical. When the sun rises in the backyard, it casts dramatic shadows across our family room walls and patio. I love how they shift and change with each passing minute!

The word "October" is part of the master page. The hearts are from my digital stash and the number sticker is part of the S.L.A.P. Masterclass class kit. I'm really happy with this page!
