Throughout the month of October I will be creating a 6x8 album celebrating the fall season in Affinity Publisher for iPad. The photos + stories in this "October Captured" album will follow the prompts from my Photo-A-Day Idea sheet. You can download the idea sheet in this blog post. These pages will be simple, using the October Captured book template and October Captured Digital Kit I created for students enrolled in the S.L.A.P. Masterclass.
October 3 | Photo Prompt: Something Green (originally was "something orange")

Who knew rocks could be so cute? The original prompt for October 3rd was "something orange." But when this little guy showed up on our front porch step, I had to document "something green" instead. We have a secret rock artist in our neighborhood. Everyone gets excited when they find a painted rock while out on a morning walk or one randomly shows up on their porch and posts pictures of their new-found treasure on our community Facebook Group. I added a white rectangle to the page to use as a journal block and lowered the opacity to 80%.
This page appears in my album next to October 2. It looks like this:

October 4 | Photo Prompt: A Cozy Spot

Any of you own a LoveSac? It may be big and bulky, but it's perfect for relaxing with a book, watch a football game, and take a nap!
October 5 | Photo Prompt: Favorite Shoes

The temps here in Florida are still well over 80-degrees. I'm over it. I'm so tired of sandles and flip-flops. Bring on cozy slippers and boots!
I added a white rectangle and lowered the opacity to 80%, just like I did for my October 3rd story. Sometimes a solid white journal can be too bold and distracting, especially on a large photo. I like being able to view the entire photo, even if some of it is a little faded because of the journal box overlay.
This is what the pages look like side-by-side:

Thank you for following along with me! The pages are super simple, but I love the process of referring to the journal prompts each day. They encourage me to snap a few photos and take a moment to enjoy the fall season or those day-to-day moments. It's also good practice for the upcoming December Daily festivities!!!!
I'll be back on Wednesday with Days 6 + 7!
