Welcome back to Documenting December—my Christmas in July blog series where I’m sharing one story a day from my completed 2024 December Daily album. December Daily Story Five: Berry Picking

December Daily isn’t just about documenting Christmas—it’s about capturing the essence of the whole month. Not every story is red and green. Some, like today’s, are bright red and juicy!
Story 5 is all about the start of strawberry season here in Florida. Our winter weather is perfect for growing big, beautiful berries, and if you’ve been following me for a while, you know this yummy tradition makes an appearance in my December Daily album every year.
I love when a photo works so well across two pages! I used several digital products from the 2024 December Daily Digital Main Kit: the ornament, plastic “morning” word, “merry and bright” word strip, scalloped journal card, and scalloped frame. The gold letters are from the Digital Puffy Alpha Sticker Sheet. By the way, that "merry & bright" wordstrip has a red color overlay applied to it. The original color is navy.
The design is simple, but I had so much fun digitally mimicking the techniques Ali used. I added my own twist by including an inset photo of one of the biggest berries I picked that day, framed with a scalloped mat from the main kit.
