December Daily Story Seven: Favorite Things Party

Ali’s Story Seven

Today’s story is all about my 2nd Annual Favorite Things Party! I hosted my first one last year and knew right away it had to become a new tradition. So much fun!

Taking inspiration from Ali’s layout, I filled the right side of my spread with photos, embellishments, and journaling arranged in a grid of 2x2 squares. I used the December December Daily 2024 Digital Scalloped Plastic Squares for the scalloped tags, then created my own digital brad to “attach” them to the page.

For the red stitched snowflake, I hopped over to the Photo Persona in Affinity Publisher and used a stitch brush by Katie Pertiet, piecing together individual stitches to form the shape. (Pro tip: If I could go back, I’d probably lower the opacity of that patterned square behind the snowflake—but silly me, I accidentally deleted my working file. So full opacity it is!)

On the left side of the spread, I designed a custom tag using elements from several December Daily 2024 digital stamp sets. The “Party” tag was made with the 6x8 Holiday Tag Stamp Set, “The Skinny” font, a row of stars from the 6x8 Scalloped Stamp Set, and that big number seven from the 6x8 Numbers Are Awesome 7 Stamp Set.

And finally, let’s talk about that “favorite things” title—it’s made from the 4x6 Alpha + Numbers Stamp Set, and I’ve put together a fun little tutorial showing how I did it. I hope you enjoy!
