December Daily 2025 | Album Cover Process Video + A Freebie!

Label with text "December Daily: The Digital Process, The Album Cover" on a festive collage of trees and poinsettias, red bow icon.

I think it is safe to say the December Daily 2025 season is officially underway, and I’m kicking things off by sharing the creation of my album cover!

My 2025 December Daily Album Cover

Vintage-style collage featuring Christmas trees, "Merry Christmas," "December Daily 2025," poinsettia, and decorative patterns. Festive mood.

This cover turned out nothing like I originally planned—and that’s part of what made it so much fun. I went into this project with one idea in mind, but inspiration struck from a completely different direction. I think my time in the Fodder Challenge this past October, where I just played with paints and papers and all sorts of other mixed media art supplies, really opened my creative mind to explore something more beyond the grid. The result feels fresh, artsy, and perfectly imperfect for the start of this year’s album. Don't get me wrong, I still LOVE a nice clean grid, but I often use December Daily as a project to experiment with different digital techniques.

This process video is also a little extra special—it’s the first time I’ve ever recorded with a voiceover! After hearing from so many of you in the poll earlier this week, I decided to give it a try. The original footage was nearly 58 minutes long, but by speeding up a few sections, I was able to bring it down to about 30 minutes without losing any of the creative flow.

I’d love to hear what you think about the voiceover format—does it help you connect more with the process? Would you like to see me continue doing this for future pages? Your feedback means so much!

You’ll find links below to the digital products from Ali Edwards’ shop that I used in this layout, and as a little thank-you for following along, I’ve included a set of free digital staples for you to download and use in your own projects!

Three digital staples arranged vertically on a white background. Upper text: "PIXELS TO PAGES." Lower text: "FREEBIE: 3 DIGITAL STAPLES."

Here’s to a brand-new season of storytelling, experimenting, and documenting December in all its beautiful, messy, creative glory.
